Australia have been looking sharp since the start of 2023. After beating India in the World Test Championship final, they also retained the Ashes series in England.
Now, they will be looking to continue their brilliant form into the World Cup and hopefully lift the trophy for a record sixth time.
South Africa and Australia last played each other at Durban last week in the final T20I of their ongoing bilateral tour.
South Africa won the toss and opted to bat first. It was Reeza Hendriks, Aiden Markram and Donovan Ferreira who scored over 40 runs each to help set a total of 190 runs. Australia’s Sean Abbott took a four-wicket haul.
Travis Head took hold of Australia’s steering wheel in the chase. He smashed a scintillating 91 off 48, an innings that featured eight fours and six sixes.
His superb innings guided Australia to an easy five-wicket victory.
