AAP says sting CD doctored, will take journalist and channels to court
AAP claimed that the video shown has been edited and shown in a way to put its leaders in poor light.

New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party came out in full force against the CD of the sting operation that was conducted on its leader by Media Sarkar journalist Anuranjhan Jha. The AAP in a press conference on Friday claimed that the CD is doctored and the truth can come out only if the entire footage is seen.

Accusing journalist Anuranjan Jha of not being truthful, AAP leader Yogendra Yadav said, "The video shown has been edited and shown in a way to put AAP leaders in poor light. No conclusion can be drawn on the basis of the CD shown."

Yadav said that the party will be filing a criminal defamation suit against the those who made the CD and also against channels which aired it. "Will complain against channels airing the CD to News Broadcasters Association and Press Council of India," Yadav said.

Yadav also claimed that this was an action to malign AAP's clean and corruption-free image. He added that if any of its leaders is found guilty then he or she will be punished and will not be allowed to contest elections.

"Anuranjan Jha has submitted the CD to EC. If the Election Commission finds anyone guilty then he or she will be withdrawn," Yadav said and appealed to the commission to conduct an investigation within the next 48 hours to find out the truth.

The sting operation showed top leaders including Shazia Ilmi ready to accept funds without proper background verification. However, Yadav said that action will not be taken against the candidates on the basis of the sting operation adding that AAP has not accepted Shazia Ilmi's offer to resign.
