Bengaluru: Union Minister Sadananda Gowda's relatives continue to embarrass him. Gowda's nephew Abhishek has been caught on camera assaulting a bouncer in a South Bengaluru pub.
Gowda's nephew was allegedly angry at being served alcohol that was not genuine.
Reacting to the incident Gowda said, "Yes, Abhishek is the son of my wife's sister. However, I am not aware of the fight."
The CCTV footage is of January 2.
According to a report in Bangalore Mirror, Abhishek and and his Hitesh filed a complaint at the JP Nagar police station against the management of the sports bar claiming both of them had been assaulted with snooker cues before being thrown out of the premises. "It was our second visit to the sports bar on January 2 to play snooker, and we ordered for whiskey. By the smell of the drinks, we found out it was not genuine and was adulterated. We called the server and asked him to get the liquor bottle from which the whiskey was poured," Hitesh said.
He said the server refused to bring the bottle, after which the bouncers asked them to drink whatever they had been served.
"But we refused to listen. Without any provocation, the bouncers and the management came and started hitting us with snooker cues and threw us out of the sports bar," Hitesh said.
Abhishek owns a brokerage firm and Hitesh owns a construction company in Bengaluru.
The incident took place a year after Gowda's son was accused in a rape case by an actress. In 2015, Gowda's another nephew Pradeep was arrested in Malekudiya hand chopping case.
