New Delhi: In a stern step to change the lax attitude of government employees, the Information & Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar sent all those who came late to work on Monday on casual leave.
Javadekar was on an inspection on Monday morning in his ministry when he found that majority of his ministry's staff had not reported to work on time i.e 9 am.
Sending out a strong message, Javadekar then sent all the late comers on casual leave.
The Minister's action comes in the backdrop of Prime Minister Narendra Modi assurance of a more efficient and diligent administration.
Government employees are known for working at 'snail's pace' which makes getting a work done at government offices a herculean task.
