27. Kolaras is a state Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency in the state of Madhya Pradesh and is part of Guna Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency. Kolaras falls in Shivpuri district and Chambal region of Madhya Pradesh. It is categorised as a rural seat.
There are a total of 2,26,422 voters in the seat, which includes 1,21,064 male voters, and 1,05,354 female voters. In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh elections, Kolaras recorded a voter turnout of 75.64%. In 2013 the turnout was 73.34%, and in 2008 it was 71.4%.
In 2013, Ram Singh Yadav of INC won the seat by a margin of 24,953 votes (15.49%). Ram Singh Yadav secured 45.91% of the total votes polled.
