Ahmedabad: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, who has been refused US visa since 2005, will address Indian diaspora in 18 cities in that country through a video conference on June 13 as a part of Gujarat Day celebrations. "The event has been organised by NRIs and particularly the people of Gujarat-origin living in USA as part of Gujarat Day celebrations," an official statement said.
"The Chief Minister will be addressing the Indian diaspora on the success story of Gujarat and his vision of good governance and the address will be in Hindi," it said. Modi's address would be broadcast through video conference in New Jersey (where the main event of the programme will take place) and other cities including Chicago, New York, Atlanta, Bloomington, Charlotte, Dallas, Phoenix, Minneapolis, Marrilville, Indianapolis, Cincinati, Los Angeles, Fremont and Baltimore.
After the controversial cancellation of his address at Wharton India Economic Forum in March, Modi had addressed an NRI event in the US organised by `Friends of BJP' through video link.
