No attempts made for collective growth during Chidambaram's tenure: Jaya
She urged the voters to ensure that Karti Chidambaram, who is contesting 2014 polls from Sivaganga instead of his father, loses his deposit.

Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Friday launched a scathing attack on the Union Finance minister P Chidambaram. Addressing an election rally in his Lok Sabha seat Sivaganga, Jaya alleged that the Indian economy derailed and hit the rock bottom during P Chidambaram's tenure. Ridiculing Chidambaram, she said, "Chidambaram has only inaugurated ATM centers in Sivaganga. He says he has opened nearly 200 ATM centers. This is not going to improve the economy. There have been no attempts for collective growth."

She urged the voters to ensure that Karti Chidambaram, who is contesting 2014 polls from Sivaganga instead of his father, loses his deposit.

She said that the AIADMK had not acknowledged Chidambaram victory from Sivaganga in the 2009 Lok Sabha elections. She asked, "Why is he afraid to go for a recounting? Chidambaram's victory is not but cheating. He won 2009 election by fraudulent means. This time Chidambaram is not contesting due to fear of losing the polls."

Taking potshots at the Congress and DMK, Jaya compared Congress-DMK politics to Indian Premier League. She said, "Like IPL, the Congress and its alliance are involved in politics. I request voters to defeat Chidambaram, Congress and the DMK".
