Varanasi: In a final push to establish BJP's supremacy in the holy city of Varanasi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday visited the famous Gadwaghat Ashram where he fed cows. Later, Modi offered prayers at the Ashram temple and met Mahant Sharananand.
Modi drove to the ashram at around 10.30 AM. Hundreds of people lined the route to the ashram, showered flower petals, and shouted "Modi, Modi" as the Prime Minister's cavalcade passed.
PM Narendra Modi has been camping in his home constituency for the past three days and has launched a full-throated campaign against the ruling Samajwadi Party (SP), its ally in the present elections, Congress, and the Mayawati-led Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).

He is also expected to address a rally in Rohaniya on Monday.
He was welcomed by the management of the ashram and many seers offered him garlands made of rudraksha beads.
Modi responded to his welcome by bowing to the saints and talking to them with folded hands.
Meanwhile, UP CM Akhilesh Yadav, while addressing a rally in Jaunpur, launched into a tirade against PM Modi, alleging that "PM Modi hadn't fulfilled promises he made during the run-up to 2014 Lok Sabha elections". He added: "Acche din (good days) was just an election gimmick."
Last year, Modi had visited the Sant Ravidas temple here on the saint's anniversary and had won hearts of many Dalits for whom Ravidas is a venerated spiritual guru.
PM Modi held a mammoth roadshow on Sunday, a day after his roadshow coincided with an equally energetic Akhilesh-Rahul roadshow in the same city on Saturday.
