Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange had earlier announced that he would be on an indefinite hunger strike at Azad Maidan in Mumbai from January 20 to intensify his demand for reservation for the Maratha community. The main reason for this was to have proper reservations in various sectors for the Maratha community in Maharashtra. The latest reports have suggested that Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has met Manoj Jarange and has heard about all his demands. It has also been found that the social activist has also decided to end his indefinite hunger strike. Amid the strike, many people from the Marathi entertainment industry lent their support to Manoj. One of the people to support him was Big Boss Marathi fame singer Utkarsh Shinde.
Extending his support to Manoj Jarange, Utkarsh Shinde has given an interview to a media channel. In the interview, he said, “Be it reservations or any help given to any community, the best thing is to make frameworks in the law to help the people who are oppressed. If the rest of the community gets it, then the Maratha community should also get it.” He also added that when politicians don’t stand up for the common man, the people stand up for themselves, and then they become so strong and do extraordinary things. He also said that the strongest voice is that of the common people, and Manoj Jarange Patil is the voice of the needy, the farmers, and the hardworking people. “Everyone should stand behind him and support him in this movement for reservation,” he added.
Utkarsh Shinde has also appreciated Manoj Jarange and said that he has been putting in the same efforts that were put in by Mahatma Gandhi and Babasaheb Ambedkar. He added that the efforts that have been put in by Manoj Jarange should be appreciated, especially by the Marathas, as this will benefit the coming generation in the future. He added that he is coming up with a Marathi song soon for Manoj Jarange’s work. It will be a song that will make sense to those who understand the language or wake up those politicians who are sleeping and pretending not to hear.
