Frustrated with unwanted or promotional emails from e-commerce sites? The US-based tech giant Google is reportedly introducing a new unsubscribe button in the Gmail Android app, making it simpler to opt out of spam emails.
The Gmail unsubscribe button feature is currently not widely available, and there is no information regarding its availability on iOS devices.
As reported by AssembleDebug on TheSpAndroid, the Gmail unsubscribe button is in development in the latest version of the Gmail app on Android. The Unsubscribe button will be located next to the sender’s information, and tapping on it will unsubscribe you from future emails.
The report also revealed that Gmail on desktop can now automatically add an unsubscribe button to messages if it finds an unsubscribe link within the message. Simply click the button to stop receiving unwanted emails. On mobile, tap the three-dot menu icon to find the unsubscribe button.
According to AssembleDebug, a clear ‘Unsubscribe’ button will appear on emails where you can easily opt out. This feature will be included in the latest update of Gmail (version 2023.11.12) for Android smartphones, the report said.
Meanwhile, Google has also expanded the support for its car crash detection feature to more countries, which now includes India. The car crash detection works similar to Apple’s feature for iPhones but Google is bringing the support on Android for select phones as of now.
As the name suggests, car crash detection uses the sensors on your Android phone and raises an alert if you ever meet with an accident. Google is offering car crash detection in India, which also shows the company’s direction towards the country which also has plans to start manufacturing the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro by early 2024.
Google makes it clear that car crash detection is only available for Pixel phones as of now, and even there, you would need to have Pixel 4a or later models which includes the Pixel 7 and Pixel 8 series as well.
