Honor 7X Android 8.0 Oreo Update With EMUI 8.0 is Now Rolling Out in India
The Android 8.0 Oreo update alongside EMUI 8.0 has begun rolling out for Honor 7X users in India.

Huawei owned Honor has rolled out Android 8.0 Oreo-based EMUI 8.0 software update for Honor 7X in India. Some of the key EMUI 8.0 features that the latest update comes with include a new floating navigation dock, Update Setting Menu and Phone Manager, LinkedIn integration, the ability to connect up to two Bluetooth devices simultaneously. Another feature that some users might appreciate is the photo gallery recycle bin. The photo gallery recycle bin makes it possible for users to restore deleted photos and videos up to 30 days after first deleting them. The update enables VoLTE capabilities with major telecom service providers in India including Vodafone, Idea Cellular, and Airtel.

The software update comes via an Over-the-Air (OTA). To update their smartphone, users need to visit Settings > System > System update on their mobile and then tap on the Check for Updates option.

As for its specifications, the Honor 7X is powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 659 octa-core SoC and was launched back in December with Android 7.0 Nougat. The storage variants of the smartphone include 32GB, 64GB and 128GB options, with the capacity of expanding the memory up to 256GB using an external microSD. Following the industry trend, the device boasts of a 5.93-inch near bezel-less, Full-HD display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. It will run on a 4GB RAM and will be backed by a 3340 mAh battery.

Optics of the smartphone include a dual-lens camera setup at the back, with a 16-megapixel primary and a 2-megapixel Secondary lens with features like PDAF, LED-Flash, Face Detection, HDR and 1080p video recording @30fps. There is also an 8-megapixel shooter at the front, while the fingerprint sensor of the device has been shifted to the back. Connectivity options on the Honor 7X include 4G-LTE, Dual Nano-SIM (Hybrid), Wi-Fi Direct, Micro-USB 2.0 and Bluetooth 4.1. The Honor 87X weighs 165 grams and will be housed in a Black metal casing. Honor 7X was launched in China in October and came with a CNY 1299 (~Rs 12,800) price tag.
