New Delhi: Refuting the speculations that Micromax will take the wraps off the next Canvas smartphone tomorrow, the company said that the launch would instead be of a “new, much bigger flagship device.”
A company representative told IBNLive that Micromax would unveil a new flagship device that would be “beyond Canvas 5 smartphone,” hinting at a completely new product.
Based on the product launch invite, it was speculated that the long awaited smartphone could finally see the light of the day tomorrow. The invite didn’t reveal much, except for a “mystery prisoner” expected to be set free on the said date.
The company has been churning out new phones at an astounding rate, and while its flagship Canvas 4 was introduced in 2013, the company was hopeful of introducing its next model in the following year, which disappointingly is still not released.
As Micromax is fast becoming the preferred brand amongst Indian smartphone manufacturers, a new flagship device would only add to the company’s profile of offering affordable yet feature-laid smartphones.
