The Redmi Smart TV X-series that includes Redmi Smart TV X50, X55, and X65 have debuted in India. All three models come with similar specifications but differ in terms of screen size. The Redmi Smart TV X-series is the first smart TV models by Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi in India. The company had been previously selling smart TV units in its home country China. Some of the notable features of the new Redmi TV models include 4K HDR-enabled display panel, support for 12-bit Dolby Vision format, and Android TV 10-based PatchWall UI. The new TV will directly compete against affordable 4K TVs provided by Amazon-Croma, Realme, OnePlus, and TCL.

The Redmi Smart TV X-series is available in three sizes and their price in India starts at Rs 32,999 for the base X50, Rs 38,999 for the X55, and Rs 57,999 for the top-end X65 variant. The new models are relatively more affordable than competitors that sell 4K TVs at similar sizes. For instance, the newly launched Croma Fire TV Edition Smart LED TV is priced at Rs 34,999 for the 43-inch Ultra-HD model. TCL also launched “India’s first Android 11” enabled TCL P725 series for a starting price of Rs 41,990 for the base 43-inch variant. Its 50-inch option costs Rs 56,990. Meanwhile, the Redmi Smart TV X-series will go on sale on March 26 via Amazon and official Xiaomi channels. Customers with ICICI Bank credit cards can enjoy flat Rs 2,000 off.

Coming to the specifications, Redmi Smart TV supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+ formats for an enhanced viewing experience. Redmi notes that the TV features a ‘Reality Flow’ display to provide a smooth, blur-free video quality. The Redmi TVs are powered by Vivid Picture Engine, an in-house image processing algorithm that aims to deliver accurate colour and vibrancy. Under the hood, the Redmi TV X-series pack a 64-bit quad-core Mediatek processor CPU, Mali G52 MP2 GPU, 2GB RAM and 16GB onboard storage.

The Android TV 10-based PatchWall running on the TVs supports universal search, kids mode, smart-recommendation, built-in Chromecast and the Mi Home App. With the Mi Home app, users can control and monitor all their IoT products and can enjoy a truly connected experience directly from their TV. In terms of audio, the Redmi Smart TV X-series is touted to deliver 30W audio output and support Dolby Audio formats. Connectivity options include three HDMI 2.1 ports with one supporting eARC, two USB ports, dual-band Wi-Fi, optical and 3.5mm audio jack, and Bluetooth v5.0. As mentioned all display panels have 4K Ultra-HD (3,840 x 2×160 pixels) resolution.
