Samsung Galaxy S20 FE's Qualcomm Snapdragon-Powered Variant Coming to India on March 30
Samsung's move to launch the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865-powered is being said to toughen the competition for the OnePlus 9 series.

Last year, Samsung launched its Samsung Galaxy S20 FE as the toned-down version of last year?s flagship, the Samsung Galaxy S20. However, in India, the company only brought the Exynos 990-powered variant to India, while kept the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865-powered Samsung Galaxy S20 FE for the global markets, meaning the Indian version came without 5G support. Now, the company is bringing the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865-powered variant of the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE to India, according to an official announcement via the Samsung India twitter account. Samsung said that the Snapdragon 865-powered version of the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE will go on sale starting March 30. This could also be the company?s move to boost the sales of the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE, as the smartphone did not pick up in India as well as it did globally, seeing a lower sales performance as compared to the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite before it. This is also being said to be Samsung?s move to toughen the competition for the recently-launched OnePlus 9 series.

While bringing 5G support to India doesn?t mean much as the country?s 5G infrastructure has not been set up yet and the service is not active in India. However, Qualcomm processors have a better reputation in the Indian market as compared to Samsung?s in-house Exynos processors. The Snapdragon-powered Galaxy S20 FE is hence expected to be better at power efficiency and sustained performance over its Exynos counterpart. There could also be a price difference between the Exynos-powered smartphone and the Snapdragon-powered variant, but nothing is official as of now. Samsung is expected to reveal more information ahead of the March 30 sales.

The Exynos 990-powered variant of the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE was launched in October last year. The smartphone is priced at Rs 49,999 onwards on Samsung?s official store for the 128GB storage variant. The smartphone can also be purchased for Rs 36,960 on Amazon.
