New Delhi: This week, NASA released a false colour image of Pluto showing the dwarf planet in beautiful rainbow hues.

The image data were collected by the spacecraft’s Ralph/MVIC color camera on July 14 at 11:11 AM UTC, from a range of 35,000 kilometers.

The psychedelic Pluto highlights the large barren region in the center called the Tombaugh Regio, located just north of Pluto’s massive ice mountains along with the Cthulhu Regio, the darkest spot on the dwarf planet.
