Sony announces new PlayStation 4 with 1TB storage; to come in July

New Delhi: After Microsoft’s Xbox One, rival Sony has announced its PlayStation 4 with double the existing storage.

The PS4 Ultimate Player Edition includes 1TB of storage for gaming fans. The updated console will arrive in Europe on 15th July. Sony hasn’t yet announced the price of the popular console or when it will be made available in other countries.

A report on The Verge notes that apart from increased hard drive space, the new PS4 includes improved technical specs. It weighs 10 per cent lighter and uses 8 per cent less power than the previous model with half the storage. It also sports a matte finish and comes in both white and black colour variants.

The company has also updated its PlayStation companion app for iOS and Android with the ability that now lets you redeem gift codes without powering the console on and displays comments received from viewers while you're streaming.
