Now essentially, the telephoto lens is what differentiates between a regular 12-megapixel camera and a 12-megapixel dual camera. The telephoto lens allows 2 times of optical zoom, meaning you can click same quality pictures when zoomed in as you click while in standard mode.
Another huge value add is the Bokeh effect – both the lenses on the iPhone 7 Plus combine to add a depth effect to your images. This is done by highlighting the object in focus while blurring everything in the background. Apple has also used a better-than-before Image Signal Processor in the iPhone 7 Plus to facilitate these features.
Honor 8 Pro – Rs 29,999
Huawei’s latest flagship in India – the Honor 8 Pro comes with a dual camera setup that sports two 12-megapixel sensors –an RGB sensor to capture images in full colour along with a monochrome sensor that takes photos in black and white. The Black and white lens helps capture a more detailed image as it is only concerned with the amount of light coming at a point.
While a picture is clicked through the smartphone, images from both these sensors are captured simultaneously and then coupled to deliver a final photo with better colour, depth and detail.

OnePlus 5 – Rs 32,999
Even OnePlus has gone for a Dual Camera flu in its latest flagship – the OnePlus 5. It carries a 16-megapixel regular and a 23-megapixel telephoto lens coupled into its Dual Camera setup. The setup works more or less like the one on iPhone 7 Plus and supports features like Phase-Detection Autofocus, Dual-LED Flash and video recording capabilities of 2160p@30fps.
Honor 6X – Rs 12,000
Honor’s budget offering – the Honor 6X comes with a dual camera setup that carries one 12-megapixel regular lens for capturing images and coupled with it is a 2-megapixel sensor dedicated to adding depth to the image. The smartphone is hence able to click images with Bokeh effect.
Of course, the image detailing cannot be matched with those of the Honor 8 Pro but it certainly tops the ranks in its own budget. And the budget that we speak of here, well, is just Rs 12,000.
