Western Digital has added its new 2.5-inch storage devices along with the SanDisk rugged drive in the Indian market.

Western Digital (WD) is expanding its portable hard disk drive (HDD) range in India with the launch of 6TB options across its WD, WD_BLACK, and SanDisk Professional lineup. The WD My Passport portable HDD line and the SanDisk Professional G-DRIVE ArmorATD in 6TB options offer the highest storage capacity in a 2.5-inch portable HDD available in India.

The pricing for WD My Passport (6TB, USB-C) starts at Rs 15,999. The WD My Passport (6TB), WD Elements (6TB) and the SanDisk Professional G-DRIVE ArmorATD (6TB) cost Rs 15,499, Rs 15,299 and Rs 20,999 respectively.

The WD My Passport (6TB, USB-C), WD My Passport (6TB) and WD Elements (6TB) are available at select WD retailers and the online store. The SanDisk Professional G-DRIVE ArmorATD will be available by the end of this month.

WD Portable HDD Specifications

WD My Passport Portable HDD (6TB)/ WD My Passport 6TB (USB-C) features USB C-Type connectivity and a sleek metal design. For data protection, the device offers password protection with 256-bit AES hardware encryption. It comes with a transfer rate of up to 5 GB/s speed and is compatible with Windows 10+, and reformatting may be required for other operating systems. The My Passport hard drives are available with a warranty of three years.

SanDisk Professional G-DRIVE ArmorATD (6TB): The SanDisk Professional G-DRIVE ArmorATD (6TB) is designed to resist shock, rain, dust and crushing pressures, making it ideal for usage in harsh conditions. It gets a USB C-Type connectivity with a transfer rate of 5 GB/s for a faster file backup and is USB 3.2 Gen 1 and Thunderbolt 3 compatible.

The G-DRIVE ArmorATD is compatible with macOS 11+ and requires reformatting for Windows 10+. It also has a three-year warranty.

WD Elements (6TB): The WD Elements 6TB, comes with a plug-and-play expandability and a similar transfer speed of 5 Gb/s. It is compatible with Windows 10+. However, Reformatting might be required for other OS. The WD Elements (6TB) comes with a warranty of two years.
