WhatsApp Voice Notes On Your Status Updates Can Now Go Up To 1 Minute: All Details
WhatsApp users can send videos or audio as their status update which is visible to select or all contacts on your list.

WhatsApp voice notes are adored by many and even those using the Status Updates have found it helpful. But these notes have a limit up to 30-seconds which somehow isn’t proving to be enough for some of you. So, WhatsApp has decided to make your wish come true and let you have voice notes as status updates for up to a minute.

The much-awaited update will be soon available to millions, and before that WhatsApp is putting it through the beta tests to fix any issues. Status updates didn’t appeal to many initially but its popularity seems to have grown over the time, which explains the likely decision to roll out support for longer voice notes. The best thing about voice notes is that you just have to tap the mic button on the message bar and record your message or update that will be shared with all your contacts.

How 1-Minute-Long Voice Notes Work For Status Update

The voice note for status updates is activated using the same way you send voice messages. You need to hold down the mic button and start recording your voice note that will be published as a status update. In case, you don’t like the sound of the clip, just slide the bar to cancel uploading the voice note and start again. The platform is testing the feature on Android and iOS betas, so you can expect the official version to be offered soon.

Similarly, WhatsApp users also get the ability to change their default theme colour for which the tests have already started with the iOS version. Chat themes have mostly been limited to the regular mode and the dark mode, which could also be the system default theme.

But soon, the messaging app will offer different coloured themes that will also change the colour of the chat bubbles. The latest tests have been spotted in the WhatsApp iOS beta version 24.11.10.70 which is yet to roll out for public testing.

The beta version suggests the messaging app will offer up to five colours for the chat and theme colours. “Upon selecting a colour, it will automatically become our default chat theme, adjusting both the wallpaper and bubble colour accordingly in the future,” the tipster mentioned.
