Let’s delve into these moments.
In the show’s first episode, Tanishaa shed light on getting continuously compared with her sister, Kajol and mother Tanuja. Expressing her thoughts, she said, “Meri family mein Ajay Devgn, Kajol sab star hai, main uss Mukaam tak nahi pahuchi, I am not a star. (In my family, Ajay Devgn, Kajol, everyone is a star; I haven’t reached that position, I am not a star).” Despite facing highs and lows in her career, participating in shows like Bigg Boss changed her life, where she managed to become the first runner up and was even a finalist on Khatron Ke Khiladi.
Further, Tanishaa Mukerji candidly addressed the comparisons with her sister, Kajol, by expressing amusement at the situation. She highlights the stark physical differences, such as eye colour and hair texture, claiming that they are entirely unique. With maturity, Tanishaa finds it easier to accept these comparisons and now laughs thinking about them. She acknowledges that initially, she used to ignore such comments, but now, she believes that people who troll and compare are not revealing anything about her but are exposing their own insecurities on social media.
In one of the episodes of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 11 Tanishaa delivered a touching performance during the Shaadi special episode on the song Dilbaro. The act not only left audiences teary eyed but the actress herself felt emotional. After the performance, she opened up about her deep connection with her father, recounting how, after his passing, she moved into his house. Tanishaa revealed, “When he was alive, he would tell me to go and live with him, make a garden on the terrace, and grow roses. When he passed away, I decided to come and live in his house. Every morning, as I walk here, it feels like my father is with me. Losing him made me realise the immense role he played in my life.”
Tanishaa Mukerji also shared a harrowing experience from the time she was shooting her debut film Sssshhh and got into an accident. Recounting the incident, she mentioned that while shooting in Manali, the car she was traveling in with Dino Morea and their director skidded due to a back tire issue, leading to the car toppling over. While others suffered hand fractures, the actress claimed she fell outside the car and rolled underneath it, due to which she had concussion. While talking about the incident, Tanishaa claims she had no memory of the accident. Doctors advised her to stop shooting a month after the incident, but the producers insisted on continuing, threatening to shelve the movie. However, Tanishaa took a year to fully recover from the accident.
