Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal has broken many records at the box office. The film, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, hit theatres on December 1 and has turned out to be a massive success despite receiving backlash for its storyline and the toxic behaviour of the characters. After successfully earning more than Rs 800 crore at the worldwide box office, the film made its OTT premiere on Netflix. Recently, the English version of the film was also released on February 8. However, the film’s lead actor, Ranbir Kapoor, did not dub for the English version of the film. In ‘Animal’, Ranbir’s role is voiced by popular TV actor Nakuul Mehta.
According to reports, the English-dubbed voice of Ranbir’s character has been receiving a lot of appreciation. Actor Nakuul Mehta posted a video on Instagram and shared that he spent around two weeks dubbing for the film. In the clip, he shows a clip from the film where he flaunts his voice modulation. He captioned the clip, “Spending a fortnight up close with Ranbir in a dark cold dubbing studio with only a flask containing hot water, turmeric, honey & some extremely black coffee for company has been one heck of a ride, I promise you!”
Nakuul even praised Ranbir performance in the caption and appreciated him for giving a cracker of a performance in Animal. He continued sharing his experience and said, “It has felt liberating, powerful, painful and never ending at different points yet I feel so enriched have had this wonderful opportunity to recreate this act in English under the expert direction of the amazing @benaifermirza and the relentless @sagar.dani666 at @mayukhiinsyncstudios.”
As soon as he uploaded the clip, it went viral, and many people have appreciated Nakuul for his incredible performance through his voice. One of the users wrote, “Why do you sound more like Ranbir than Ranbir sounds himself?”. Another user wrote, “This is brilliant. So so good.”
