Television actress Priya Ahuja became a household name after she featured as Rita Reporter in the superhit series Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. She recently made headlines after a photograph she shared on her Instagram story sparked rumours that she is expecting her second child with her husband Malav Rajda. Priya spoke exclusively to News18 and dismissed this rumour, stating that currently she is focusing on her work.
She said, “I had received a text message from a reporter who reported the news of my pregnancy and the day was Janmashtami, and coincidentally this year too, on the same day I got reminded for the same in a way I never even imagined. I became a bit overwhelmed. I re-shared the story on my social media, and that’s how the rumour of my second pregnancy sprung out of the blue! Right now, I am back to work and now along with my beautiful journey as a mother, I don’t want the actor in me to take a backseat.”
The picture being talked about is the same one that Priya had used to announce her first pregnancy, hence the rumours arose that she was expecting her second child. In the photo, Priya is holding the hand of her husband Malav as he holds a pair of adorable baby booties. The picture was taken on one of the couple’s exotic getaways as they posed in front of the bright, blue ocean water.
Meanwhile, on the work front, she quit Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah earlier this year after having worked on the show for 14 years. She had earlier told ETimes that after sitting at home for more than eight years and getting no response from the makers about her character’s track, she decided to hand in her resignation. However, she said she received no response even after that. Priya is now seen as Madhura or ‘Maddy’ in the popular series Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin.
