When one travels business class they expect a certain level of comfort, hygiene, and etiquette from the staff including the co-passengers. However, all of these expectations were unmet when a traveler took the Air India flight from Mumbai to Singapore. On Sunday, a Reddit user ‘ovijf’ shared a photo collage that showed a person’s bare feet resting on his armrest from the seat behind him. The OP (original poster) shared this collage on the subreddit ‘r/mildlyinfuriating’ and wrote, “How my Air India business class flight went. Asked nicely multiple times to remove their feet, but without success. I was woken up by this lady’s toenails stabbing my arm. And the odour was horrible. Air India: After I Return, I Never Do It Again.”

This post soon gathered over 53,000 upvotes. In the comments, many people suggested ways in which the OP should have dealt with the unruly co-passenger. A Reddit user wrote, “I would crush that foot so hard with my elbow.” Another person mentioned, “Every time I see one of these posts I’m baffled by the fact OP doesn’t just immediately smash the toes or pour some type of boiling liquid. Easy solution.”
Someone joked, “Ask for some markers or pens and start your training as a modern day foot coloring artist.” A Reddit user wondered, “I don’t understand. It’s business class, so it has a decent amount of legroom but she’s like “nah, I need to put my feet up”. I would’ve called a flight attendant over and just pointed at the feet without saying a word. Pretty self explanatory.”
Many people also used this post to mention how Air India has poor service, and unhelpful staff. Making this point, a person wrote, “It’s Air India… You can be in First Class and still deal with classless people who happen to have money. Sadly, money doesn’t buy class.”
In another update, the OP explained more about the flight and wrote, “I ended up stuffing those areas with pillows and blankets and my backpack pushed against it. Air staff didn’t want to intervene so I did 3 times and then I had enough. I traveled 160.000kms last year on 69 (hehe) flights and this was the most disgusting one. Also surprised by the filthiness and broken state of Air India. No working in-flight entertainment, no recline in business class as this was a broken, narrow body on a +5h flight..”
