Ranbir Kapoor’s latest blockbuster Animal has been in the news ever since the trailer of the movie was launched. The Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial has already completed one month in theatres. This has been a period of mixed emotions for the makers of the film. While some slammed the A-rated movie for glorifying the male characters, others found it quite entertaining. Despite all the criticisms, Animal finished the year 2023 as one of the top-grossing Bollywood movies, having secured a place in the exclusive Rs 800-crore club.
One of the talking points of Animal was the character of Bobby Deol– Abrar Haque, who is the antagonist of the film. Now, an Indian cricket fan has imagined batting icon Viral Kohli in the place of Bobby. The person used an AI tool to replace the face of the veteran actor with that of Kohli in a scene from Animal’s trailer. To make the video more engaging, the fan used Abrar’s entry theme ‘Jamal Jamaloo’ as the background music.

The edited video was dropped on an X account named Filmy Wap Webseries, with the caption, “What If Virat Kohli in Animal Movie As Lord Bobby.” The rendition looked so perfect that viewers would take time to recognise Kohli in the footage. The Indian batter has yet to reveal his wish to make a debut in films. But if he has any plans to do so, his wife-actress Anushka Shama can be the perfect coach.
As far as his cricketing career is concerned, Virat Kohli is currently in South Africa where Team India is engaged in a two-match Test series. This is Kohli’s first assignment following the ODI World Cup where the Men in Blue missed the title by a margin after losing the final to Australia.
Despite India’s heartbreaking defeat, it was certainly a memorable tournament for Kohli, who overtook his idol Sachin Tendulkar on the list of ODI centuries during the campaign. The historic ton came in the semi-final against New Zealand at Wankhede. Kohli has been replicating his sublime form in the ongoing Test series. He was the only standout batter for India in the opening Test, which South Africa won by an innings and 32 runs.
