Necessity is the mother of invention. In India, there are many such places where people have invented things. This is mostly done to make their daily tasks easier. Many people are not able to afford the luxuries of life, and as a result, they have to build their hacks to tackle the situation. People use natural resources and sometimes even scrap to make these tools that help them daily. One incident has come up where two young students in Bikaner, Rajasthan, have made a unique bicycle using scrap. As per reports, it is an electric bicycle, which they have been using to go to school.
The names of the two students are Sandeep Sharma and Nitish Kashyap. It has been reported that they both belong to a small village in Bikaner. They decided to make this electric bicycle because their school was 7 kilometres away from their home, and they used to travel on foot. Their families didn’t have enough money to spend on autos or rickshaws every day.
According to reports, Sandeep’s father works as a scrap dealer, and because of this, there was a lot of junk lying in Sandeep’s house. Both friends decided to build this e-cycle by removing the same motor and battery. The e-cycle runs on solar power. The students have attached solar panels to the cycle. A big battery is charged with smaller solar panels. After this, the solar voltage is increased by charging the bigger battery. After both batteries are charged, the cycle can move. This was applied to a bicycle, and an e-cycle was prepared.
It has been found that the total cost of making this e-cycle was Rs 6,000. It is also important to note that both Sandeep and Nitish don’t have a scientific background. They are pursuing arts, but their need to travel to school made them invent such a unique and money-saving tool.
