An alleged burglar was caught doing some warm-up stretches and yoga poses before breaking into a bakery in Australia. The maskless burglar’s fitness prep was caught on the bakery’s CCTV camera. This incident took place at Phillippa’s Bakery on North Street in Richmond, Australia. According to 9 News, the burglar stole a range of items from the shop such as the baker’s shoes, an iPad, cleaning products, and some croissants. The break-in happened on March 3 at 3 am. The police have charged a 44-year-old woman from Melbourne. She has been charged with “theft, burglary and going equipped to steal.”
Weeks after the break-in, Phillippa’s Bakery shared the CCTV footage that showed the thief exercising outside their shop. While sharing the footage, the business wrote, “We were quite surprised when we saw the security footage from a recent break-in at our Bakery HQ. Seems like yoga is a must before breaking in. A few things were stolen including some croissants which were clearly too tempting for this flexible burglar.”

Now this clip is circulating all over social media. Commenting on it, an Instagram user wrote, “I wondered if they purposely positioned themselves in front of the security camera knowing they’d be filmed, dressed in black for the extra drama. Equally hilarious and shocking.” Another person joked, “Is this about working off the calories of the croissants before they steal them?” Someone joked, “An robbery with a side serve of Interpretive Dance. Crimes these days are getting creative.”
In November 2021, CCTV footage from a temple in Maharashtra’s Thane showed the thief praying before God’s idol and then stealing the cash box. The accused broke into the temple of Lord Hanuman in Khopat, a residential area in Thane. After the CCTV footage went viral, the Naupada police apprehended the accused and recovered the stolen money.
Earlier this month, a similar incident happened in Alwar, Rajasthan where a thief prayed at the temple before stealing money from the donation box along with the silverware from the temple. The theft was caught on a CCTV camera installed inside the temple premises. The accused was identified as Gopesh Sharma, a 37-year-old, who reportedly targets temples for stealing. Sharma broke the temple’s lock on Saturday morning to gain access inside the temple.
