Internet Divided Over Delhi Vada Pav Girl's Feedback To 5-Star Hotel Chef
Chandrika Gera Dixit suggested that the chef should introduce different chutneys.

Chandrika Gera Dixit, also known as Delhi’s “Vada Pav Girl”, is once again in the headlines. This time for giving feedback to a 5-star restaurant chef. Recently, she visited The LaLiT restaurant with content creator Aayush Sapra, where they enjoyed the restaurant’s vada pav. Chandrika Gera Dixit and Aayush Sapra then met the chef and complimented him for the delicious meal. During the conversation, the Vada Pav girl suggested that the restaurant should consider offering different chutneys for various items. She pointed out that they were served mint chutney for papad and the same chutney for vada pav. The chef politely heard the compliments and feedback alike.

Now, a snippet of this video is going viral on social media. Some have argued that a novice chef like Chandrika Gera Dixit, who is essentially a street vendor, lacks the qualifications to provide feedback to a chef at a five-star hotel. On the other hand, supporters contend that street vendors possess considerable talent and have the right to offer constructive feedback. The person who shared this edited clip on X, wrote, “A thela vada-pav wala judges a 5-star hotel chef.”

An X user wrote, “How come The Lalit Group could allow a roadside vendor to judge its chefs food. This is not acceptable, kindly take appropriate actions against the manager & management for allowing them.”

Another person wrote, “The chef knows his class which is why he didn’t argue and let that conversation end. He knows what he is and doesn’t need validation from a food vlogger or street vendor on a dish.”

Expressing an opposite sentiment, another person wrote, “I don’t understand this argument. Why can’t a thela waala be better than a 5 star hotel chef ? Generally, street food stalls serve more people than any 5 star hotel chef. It’s not about where you work, it’s about how you understand people.”

Sharing the same argument, someone else wrote, “No need to diss a street hawker just because they are not professional. I have tasted some of the most brilliantly cooked food items at small shops. They just do one or two snacks and perfect them. On the other hand 5 star chefs are all rounders. So experience> qualification.”

Chandrika Gera Dixit first became popular for running a small vada pav stall, which saw huge patronage. She now boasts a following of over 3.8 lakh on Instagram and has established herself as an internet celebrity. Currently, she is a participant in Bigg Boss OTT 3.
