One might have seen incidents where traffic officers caught people red-handed for violating traffic regulations or being underage. But these perpetrators make sure to not come under the legal scanner. But, things roll a bit differently for this man in Michigan who landed himself in trouble knowingly, by driving without a license. Not only that but to add to his misery, he decided to attend his digital court trial while driving.
As per an NBC report, the man on trial, Corey Harris, failed to show up in court for his hearing on May 15. Instead, he dialled into the Zoom call while driving. The trial was being broadcast on YouTube and presided over by Judge Cedric Simpson. The judge was left dumbfounded by Harris’s disregard for laws. The video was later picked up by many online users and shared on social media.

In the clip, the judge is heard asking Corey whether he had joined the hearing while he was behind the wheel. “Mr Harris, are you driving?” the judge. The defendant replied, “Actually, I’m pulling into my doctor’s office.” The judge was appalled at the audacity of the perpetrator and checked his records. He then stated, “OK, so maybe I don’t understand something. This is a driving while your license suspended?” The advocate suggestively representing Corey answered that it was true that the defendant’s license was suspended.
The judge started smiling at the situation and exclaimed, “And he was just driving? And he doesn’t have a license?” He also looked around at the courtroom in utter disbelief and stated that it was shocking why the defendant would do that. The judge subsequently revoked Corey Harris’ release and ordered him to turn himself in at the local county jail. Corey, who was silent, was shocked at what transpired within minutes.
