People deal with a lot of emotions on their own. Some people come across as negative to others, whatever the reason maybe. This makes it harder for them to be around others at times. There is a café in Japan, which is making headlines for specifically serving people dealing with negative emotions. The name of this café is Mori Ouchi, which is located in Shimokitazawa, Tokyo, Japan. According to reports, having dull feelings or dealing with depression is not considered something bad at this place. This cafe is perfect for people who are going through a tough phase in their lives or simply have pessimistic thinking.
Reports further state that the owner of this café is a depressed person himself, and got the idea to open this place 10 years ago. He was able to turn his idea into reality during the pandemic, three years ago. He believes that depressed or negative people get hurt easily, and tend to be more sensitive than others, so he has created this safe space for them.
In a media conversation, the owner stated that people usually think that being negative is something bad; he believes it is not really that bad a thing after all. He said further, “I think a lot of negative people tend to be reserved in their attitude, which is a form of kindness, and I thought it would be nice if there was a relaxing place for them.”
The cafe features a woodland décor, built by the owner. It has private rooms, where the customers are free to be themselves, not worrying about how others look at them. Although the place itself does not look like it is made for pessimists, it’s the menu which gives away the purpose.
