People travelling by plane have been warned after one person was barred from flying due to a viral packing hack. The hack, which was praised on social media for its creativity, did not turn out to be such a wise one.

According to TikTok users, the packing tip is to hide clothes in a pillowcase to avoid paying for an extra carry-on bag. It was assumed that because a cushion is used for comfort, it would not be considered as baggage. Several travel experts have videos of themselves stuffing clothing into a pillowcase before zipping it up and disguising the evidence. When going through security, they pretend it’s a regular pillow to avoid being charged for an extra bag. Check out the viral packing hack here:

However, when a man attempted to use the ‘pillowcase hack’, airport security stopped him, prompting officials to contact the cops. The chaotic incident took place at Gate 17 of Orlando International Airport, Florida recently.

Meanwhile, Natasha, a fellow traveller, captured the incident on her phone and shared the experience on TikTok. The video, which she shared has received much attention on social media. “Stop relying on social media for tips and tricks because they may not always work. This guy was attempting to bring in a pillowcase full of clothing and other goods, which he said was merely a pillowcase, and the guy was like, buddy, everyone can tell it’s not a pillow," Natasha can be heard saying in the video.

Natasha went on to say that airport officials gave the man the option of paying for it, but he then tried to force his way onto the plane. They said, “Bro, back away; we gave you a chance, and you didn’t pay for it," and they ended up calling the cops on him. The man was eventually hauled out, so stop listening to the internet, she said towards the end.

After the video went viral, several surprised viewers on social media shared their thoughts in the comments section. “The airport is the one place I’m making sure I’m a model citizen. Are people not afraid of felonies and the no-fly list?" a user commented. Another said, “I’ll fight anyone anywhere anytime but never the airport. Getting out on the “no-fly list" is worse than a bad credit score."
