While expectations were high for another gold medal, it was Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem who clinched the top spot. Nonetheless, Chopra delivered a stellar performance and made India proud by securing the silver medal. As Chopra took to the field, Indian viewers were gripped with anticipation. Amit Khatri, co-founder of Noise, shared intriguing details on LinkedIn about the intense emotions experienced during the event. His post highlighted that the company analysed data from around 3 million users and found that the average heartbeat of Indians watching Chopra’s throws was significantly elevated.

Sharing the post, the entrepreneur wrote, “Here’s a heartfelt shoutout to Neeraj for clinching Silver – what a spectacular performance. The entire country is beaming with pride, and so are we at Noise. It was a thrilling moment, we were all on our feet, hearts racing, cheering for our golden boy. However, Neeraj Chopra’s subsequent 89.45m throw ignited even greater excitement. During Chopra’s third attempt, viewers’ heart rates spiked to over 90 beats per minute. Following this throw, the heart rate dropped and remained subdued for about 45 minutes as other competitors took their turns. Neeraj Chopra became a national hero in India by winning the country’s first-ever gold medal in javelin throw at the Tokyo Olympics. However, due to COVID-19 restrictions, that historic win took place in an empty stadium. At the Paris Olympics 2024, Indian fans filled the stadium to show their support. Notably, while Chopra claimed gold in Tokyo, Arshad Nadeem bagged the silver medal.
