Indian Railway Accounts Service (IRAS) officer, Ananth Rupanagudi, recently shared a video on the micro-blogging site X (formerly known as Twitter) that has amused desis. In a unique twist to a familiar rhyme, the video unfolds to feature a man singing the well-known English nursery rhyme “Johnny Johnny Yes Papa” in Hindustani classical music. Accompanied by two other musicians, one playing the harmonium and another playing the tabla, the man’s Hindustani classical rendition is nothing short of impressive.

This classical interpretation of the simple, catchy lyrics showcases his vocal prowess and breathes a fresh cultural dimension into the children’s song with the intricate tunes of Indian classical music.
