Watch: Passenger Collapses At Delhi Airport, CISF Jawan Saves Life By Giving CPR
The video of the life-saving CPR performed by CISF has won the hearts of millions, who are lauding his quick action.

A tragedy was averted by the timely action of a Central Industrial Security Force’s (CISF) personnel who performed life-saving CPR (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation) on a passenger undergoing cardiac arrest, a spokesperson of the force said. The incident took place around 11 am at the Indira Gandhi International Airport on Tuesday, August 20. The passenger was later transferred to Safdarjung Hospital for treatment where he is said to be in stable condition.

Delhi’s IGI Airport is considered one of the busiest airports in the world with thousands of passengers boarding flights daily. As per the spokesperson, Arshad Ayoub was on his way to board an Indigo flight to Srinagar from IGI Airport’s terminal 2 when he collapsed near the hand trolley. A two-member quick reaction team (QRT) of the CISF saw the passenger collapsing and one of them immediately performed CPR on him, he said.

While talking about the incident, the CISF spokesperson said, “A precious life was saved due to alertness and prompt action by the CISF personnel,”. The CISF is tasked to provide a counter-terrorist security cover to the IGI airport.

The video of the life-saving CPR performed by CISF was shared by ANI. It has won the hearts of many social media users, who are lauding the quick action of the personnel. Many users are also highlighting the importance of CPR saying it must be given to all, school students and the public through advertisements.

A user wrote, “Hats off to CISF Team.. really great ..they have saved one life, who is the son of some parents who waits at home to see him. Nowadays these cases are happening everywhere, such CPR training to be given to all.”

Another user suggested, “How to give CPR should be run as an advertisement on all channels, especially during cricket matches.”

An impressed user wrote, “Really well done by the CISF team. They did it better than many medical college students.”

CPR is an emergency life-saving procedure that is performed when the heart stops beating.
