An Indian student studying at the State University of New York (SUNY) died in a motorcycle accident, the Indian mission in the United States said on Thursday.
The consulate general of India expressed grief on the untimely demise of Belem Atchyuth, who met with a bike accident on Wednesday evening. The Indian mission is currently in contact with Atchyuth’s family and local authorities to provide the necessary support, including the repatriation of his mortal remains to India.

The news of Atchyuth’s demise comes in the wake of an increasing number of unfortunate incidents involving Indian students in the United States. More than a dozen Indians have died in 2024 alone.
