“Let me get my shoes” — This is what Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump said just seconds after a young gunman shot him during an election rally in US’ Pennsylvania.
Trump, who kept mumbling ‘Fight Fight” even as he was being escorted by secret service officials after receiving a bullet wound, is being widely praised for his calm and composed reaction after the fateful incident with many calling him “a real fighter”.

“Trump yelled “Fight. Fight,” after getting grazed by a bullet in the ear, an inch from ending his life. No panic. No crawling on his knees to safety. The man stands up, faces the crowd, and yells “Fight.” Historic footage. Just incredible,” said a social media user along with Trump’s footage from the rally.
The assassination attempt on former President Trump has enraged his supporters, paused the Democratic campaign and raised fears of further political violence in the run-up to November’s election.
Among his many supporters is Republican Senator Ted Cruz, who called the photos “Extraordinary” and blessed President Trump.
Trump’s approval rating, which was abating significantly after his conviction in the ‘New York Hush Money’ case, also took an interesting surge right after the assassination attempt.
World leaders, including Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, also denounced the appalling assassination bid on the former US president and asserted that violence has no place in politics and democracies.
Former US president Donald Trump was injured after being shot in the ear during an apparent assassination attempt at an election rally in Pennsylvania after which a male attacker was shot and killed by a member of the Secret Service.
Thomas Matthew Crooks, the gunman who authorities say attempted to assassinate former president was a 20-year-old registered Republican who would have voted for the first time in the presidential election in November.
