Keir Starmer appointed cabinet berths to Labour MPs who have been shadowing those ministries ensuring that the focus remains on stability.
New UK PM Keir Starmer did not waste too much time on Friday in appointing cabinet ministers shortly after he entered office. Cabinet ministers were spotted coming to Downing Street shortly after Keir Starmer and his wife, UK First Lady, Victoria Starmer entered their new home.
A report by the Guardian said that the cabinet ministers were given berths that they have been shadowing. It further added that the UK Prime Minister was appointing people to roles they’re already experienced in, which was a rare move in UK politics. It highlighted that it was not a cabinet reshuffle but a transition as cabinet ministers just had the ‘shadow’ removed from their designations.
