Charlotte Flair Set To Undergo Surgery Due To ACL Tear On SmackDown
This is the third time that Charlotte Flair has had to take time off from the company in the last year and a half.

The latest episode of WWE Smackdown announced that Charlotte Flair will be missing from the company for an extended period. The 15-time women’s champion recently conceded an injury while competing in one-on-one action against the Empress Asuka. Flair took a nasty spill in that match. Having sustained an injury, she reportedly left for her hometown in Florida for recovery. No announcements were made by WWE until a proper diagnosis had been conducted. Following the scheduled procedures, it has now been revealed that Charlotte Flair will be out for nine months due to a knee injury, sidling her up until August next year. This also means that the Queen will miss the upcoming Wrestlemania, ending her ongoing feud with Damage CTRL.

Charlotte Flair last featured on the WWE SmackDown episode that took place on December 8 at the Amica Mutual Pavilion in Providence, Rhode Island. In her match against Asuka, Flair tried to reach for the top rope. This did not end well as she tumbled down on the floor, landing awkwardly on her leg while hitting her head. She also conceded a defeat that night after Asuka rolled her up for a pinfall win. Later it was reported by PWInsider that Flair sustained a torn ACL, a torn MCL and a torn meniscus in her fall. She is expected to undergo surgery soon. It is believed that she has also injured her neck from the fall but it still isn’t confirmed.

This is the third time that Charlotte Flair has had to take time off from the company in the last year and a half. Flair had missed seven months of action in 2022 because of her marriage to AEW wrestler Andrade El Idolo. She also took a planned break earlier this year after her heartbreaking loss to Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 39. Flair’s absence is a huge blow to several fans and even the company. Her feud with the likes of Bayley, Dakota Kai, Kairi Sane, Asuka and WWE Women’s Champion IYO SKY in Damage CTRL has now come to a screeching halt and it still hasn’t been decided as to what storyline will WWE make for the Queen next.

WWE saw another such injury this year where Sami Zayn has also been ruled out for a few months due to a meniscus tear. His heated feud with the Scottish terminator Drew McIntyre took an unprecedented turn on December 4’s episode of RAW. In that event, Sami was viciously attacked by McIntyre after their one-on-one match. The sequence ended with Sami panting for breath while holding his leg in pain. Soon, WWE commentator Michael Cole announced that the superstar was going to be out for a while on the December 12 edition of the red brand.
