The IPL will add two new cities to the competition for its fourth edition.

Ahmedabad: The last time around Ahmedabad lost to Mumbai after Mukesh Ambani out-bidded his younger brother to win a team for India’s financial capital.

The wait, it seems, will finally be over for the Gujarat city with as many as four top corporates having reportedly submitted bids.

The IPL will add two new cities to the competition for its fourth edition. The successful bids will be announced in Mumbai on Monday.

The four corporates in the fray include, Adani Enterprises, Sahara Group, Videocon Enterprises and ICICI.

As per the IPL’s tender condition, the bidders should submit a Rs 460-crore bank guarantee to participate in the bidding process. The IPL has set a base price of $225 million per franchise.

Ahmedabad, Nagpur, Kanpur, Dharamsala, Indore, Cuttack, Gwalior, Visakhapatnam, Rajkot, Pune, Vadodara and Kochi are the cities in the fray.
