Tight security has been put in place for the high-profile match to be played on Saturday.
The city had been turned into a fortress and it will be secured by more than 11,000 members of the Gujarat police, National Security Guard (NSG), Rapid Action Force (RAF) and home guards.
Earlier, the Pakistan team got big support from cricket fans in Hyderabad.
“I felt like I was playing in front of the Rawalpindi crowd; our ground in Lahore is big, and a lot of people come there. This ground felt like Rawalpindi,” said Mohmmad Rizwan, adding, “The way the crowd showed love today, and not just for me but for the whole Pakistan team, and they even supported Sri Lanka. I am happy that the crowd in Hyderabad has supported cricket, both Sri Lanka and us. I had a lot of fun with them.”
Pakistan are coming into the match after a comprehensive win over Sri Lanka in which they pulled off the highest run chase in the history of World Cup.
Batting second in Hyderabad, Pakistan were set a daunting target of 345 by Sri Lanka after centuries from Kusal Mendis and Sadeera Samarawickrama.
It was not the best of starts for Pakistan in the chase as they lost Imam-ul-Haq and Babar Azam early however, they managed to chase it down courtesy sublime tons by Abdullah Shafique and Mohammad Rizwan.
