After taking the market by storm in the four-wheel segment, finally, the CNG option now is available in motorcycles as well. The homegrown bike maker Bajaj Auto has launched its much-awaited CNG bike in India called Freedom.
The booking for the same has already kickstarted in the country. However, the deliveries for vehicles will first start for Mumbai and Gujarat customers. Later, it will start arriving in other parts of the country.
Price and Variants of Bajaj Freedom CNG Bike
The model has been released in three variants – Disc LED, Drum LED and Drum. It comes at the starting price of Rs 95, 000, while the top model can be purchased at Rs 1.10 lakh (all ex-showroom).
Range, Mileage and Power: What to Expect?
The Bajaj Freedom gets 2 litre of CNG cylinder and 2 L of a fuel tank, offering an overall efficiency of 330 km on a single top-up. It has been informed that the latest offering provides an impressive travelling cost of Rs 1 per km.
As far as the power is concerned, it is capable of providing a maximum power of 9.5 bhp and robust a peak torque of 9.7 Nm.
CNG Cylinder Placement
If wondering where the CNG cylinder is installed? Well, the company has placed the unit under the single seating arrangement. Bajaj claims that the bike has been tested extensively, and no damage was reported to the cylinder during the crash test. To double check, the company used a heavy truck during testing, and somehow the CNG-powered bike did not report any gas leakage.
Here’s How to Switch from Petrol to CNG
As per the details shared by the brand, the motorcycle will run on petrol. However, it gets the CNG option as well, allowing the rider to enjoy extra efficiency. It can be switched from fuel to CNG by pressing just a button, which makes it convenient for the customers to switch.
