Owners of the Jawa 42’s older iterations are provided with a golden opportunity by Classic Legends as now they can upgrade their bike cosmetics to the latest 2.1 iterations. Under this offer, the customers will get blacked out bar-end mirrors, blacked-out alloy wheels and tubeless tires for only Rs 7,999. However, customers need to note that the offer is applicable only till March 31, 2021, after which the amount will increase to Rs 14,498. The company has reached a major landmark by registering 50,000 production units recently.
Classic Legends decided to update its best-selling product to celebrate this achievement. The new Jawa42 comes with a price tag of Rs 1.84 (ex-showroom). The bike will be offered in three new additional colour options in 2021, including Matte Red, Matte Black and White. Apart from the new paint scheme, the latest iterations of retro-style classic motorcycles also have a bunch of cosmetic updates.
The updates of the 42 line-up include a darker theme, with new colour schemes and blacked-out alloy wheels in place of traditional wire-spoke wheels. The bike also includes blacked-out mechanical parts like engine gearbox assembly, exhaust pipes, front and rear suspension units, headlamp bezels and turn indicators, other than the new alloy wheels. The company has also made the leg guards, handlebars and radiators black.
Apart from this, the other updates made in the bike are new stitch patterns on the sheet, seat pan by adopting high-density foam and the fuel tank has been given a grey stripe that contrasts with the brand.
Buyers will also get a blacked-out instrument dial which will provide basic information from the speedometer and odometer. The optional matt black laced accessories that will be provided with the bike are integrated grab rails for pillions, coloured visors and headlamp grilles.
You can also observe that the new Jawa 42 is very similar to the more traditional version of the classic chrome-filled roadster. The all-new 42 series will be sold alongside its traditional derivative.
Talking about the powertrain, Jawa has made minor changes to it and has made it slightly more powerful than the traditional 42. The motor of the bike uses crossport technology to push peak torque of 27.3bhp and 27.05Nm. However, it is with the same BS6 compliant 293cc, water-cooled, single-cylinder engine along with a 6-speed gearbox.
