Prakash Padukone To Act As Mentor For PV Sindhu Through Recovery, Preparation For 2024 Paris Olympics
PV Sindhu announced that she is currently training under the iconic Indian shuttler Prakash Padukone at his academy in Bangalore in the run-up to the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympics.

Early knockouts, loss of form, and injuries — three outcomes that have come to define PV Sindhu’s past year in badminton.

The past couple of years have been those of disappointment and despair for once-India’s ace shuttler and Double Olympic medallist PV Sindhu. Persistent injuries leading to heartbreaking outings have been the tale. And, sadly the tale continued for Sindhu, who once again incurred an injury to keep her out of play in October.

But, these moments have not hampered Sindhu’s will to fight and come back stronger than before. And now, she has one more ace up her sleeve — former ace shuttler Prakash Padukone.

Follow all the action from the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 including the World Cup schedule, World Cup 2023 results, and ICC Cricket World Cup points table. Players are vying to top the World Cup 2023 Most Runs and World Cup 2023 Most Wickets charts.

Sindhu took to social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, to share the news for all to see.

“For those wondering and constantly asking me, the cat is finally out of the bag!! Prakash sir is assuming the role of the mentor in my setup. I started training with him at the end of August, and it’s been uphill ever since,” mentioned Sindhu on her post on X.

“He’s more than a mentor; he’s my guide, my guru, and, above all, a true friend. I wholeheartedly believe he possesses the magic to bring out the absolute best from my game. I am so grateful he reached out to me with one call when I was in Japan, and we’ve built on that connection exceptionally well.

“Dear sir, I AM PUMPED!! Looking forward to training with you! Let’s get to work,” wrote an inspired and optimistic Sindhu.

Padukone, who reckons he can help Sindhu bring the best out of her, runs a state-of-the-art academy in the outskirts of Bangalore, which has now become Sindhu’s training arena.

It was stated that the move to work with Padukone came about two weeks prior to the Asian Games when Sindhu travelled from the Suchitra Academy in Hyderabad where she trains, after the senior coach and playing legend invited her over.

The goal on both of their minds is very simple: an Olympic Gold.

“Long-term goal is the Olympic gold. Nothing less than that. Along the way try to win the All-England title as well since I believe it is one of the toughest tournaments on the circuit,” stated Padukone, himself a 1980 champ of the event, in an interview with Indian Express.
