Telecom operator Bharti Airtel on Monday reported more than 2.5 times jump in its consolidated profit to Rs 4,160 crore for the first quarter of the current financial year 2024-25. Its consolidated revenue from operations during April-June 2024 surged 2.8 per cent to Rs 38,506.4 crore, from Rs 37,440 crore in the year-ago period.
Bharti Airtel had posted a profit of Rs 1,612.5 crore in the corresponding period last year.
Bharti Airtel’s India revenue increased by 10.1 per cent to Rs 29,046 crore on a Y-o-Y basis.
Its mobile average revenue per user (ARPU), a key matrix to determine telecom operators growth, of Bharti Airtel in India increased to Rs 211 during the reported compared to Rs 200 in the same period a year ago.
Shares of Bharti Airtel on Monday fell Rs 27.75 or 1.86 per cent to Rs 1,466 apiece on the BSE, even as the domestic equities market witnessed a major fall during the day amid US recession fears.
