“Uh tuh duh” was started by TikToker @luv.yves8 in July 2025. On July 21, 2025, @luv.yves8 posted a TikTok video of children’s backpacks that he claims are setting kids up for failure. Then, he asked parents not to buy the backpacks for their kids, saying, “you’re gonna look like an uh tuh duh, and you don’t want to look like an uh tuh duh!” The video went viral and currently has over 60 million views and 7 million likes. Most people were laughing at the absurdity of the video, while many others were leaving comments questioning what “uh tuh duh” means.
It's popularity grew after @luv.yves8 posted more videos about it. A few days after his first post saying “uh tuh duh,” @luv.yves8 posted a TikTik video supposedly answering what the phrase means. But, he just playfully says that it means “uh tuh duh.” In another video, he encourages girls to get over the guy they’re crying about because he looks like an “uh tuh duh.” Which, according to him, is not good! These videos also went viral, with more people embracing the phrase and even claiming they understand what it means. Other commenters still seemed confused about the phrase and consider it an inside joke that the creator has with himself.
Other TikTokers started posting videos about “uh tuh duh.” As @luv.yves8’s videos gained popularity, other people started making TikTok videos about the phrase. For instance, lots of videos went viral of people desperately asking what “uh tuh duh” means.
