New Delhi: A 20-member CEO delegation, led by FICCI President Saroj K Poddar, will accompany Commerce and Industry Minister Kamal Nath on his three-day visit to France.

The delagation aims to promote bilateral ties between the two nations.

It would seek cooperation in the fields of energy, biotechnology, infrastructure, IT, food processing, pharmaceuticals and environmental technology, a statement from the chamber said.

Priority would be given to maritime exports, where the delegation is expected to seek relaxations in the French export laws, it said.

Under the present French law on maritime export, authorities can destroy the consignment that forfeits to meet prefixed guidelines.

The industry leaders would urge the French government for not destroying such rejected consignments and instead return it to the exporters, the statement said.

They will meet the French Minister for External Trade, Chairman of the Economic Affairs Committee of the French Senate and French industry leaders like Medef International Chairman Jean Burelle, CCIP Vice-President Elizabeth Herrier and representatives from Alcatel, Alstom, Areva, Thales Air Systems and Sofema, it said.

The CEOs would also discuss various issues with French Government officials and business leaders.

Particularly those pertaining to market access, free movement of professionals, rigid labour laws, taxation, red-tapism and administrative burden.
