New Delhi: Banking major HDFC reported a 29 per cent jump in its net profits for the quarter ended March 31. The profits soared to Rs 550.05 crore as compared to Rs 426.52 crore for the same quarter a year ago.
The net earnings of the company also rose by nearly 40 per cent to Rs 1,732.95 crore for the January-March quarter as against Rs 1,239.90 crore for the corresponding period in 2006, HDFC told BSE on Thursday.
"Approvals for the year ended March 31, 2007, aggregated to Rs 33,332 crore as compared to Rs 25,634 crore during the previous year - representing an increase of 30 per cent," the company said in a statement.
The banking major pegged its disbursement at Rs 26,718 crore for the year, as against Rs 20,679 crore last year - a growth of 27 per cent. HDFC's Board has recommended a dividend of Rs 22 per equity share for the fiscal 2006-07 as against Rs 20 per share for the previous year.
