New Delhi Anil Ambani group company Reliance Capital Ltd has acquired over six per cent stake in Global Broadcast News Ltd (GBN), which operates the English news channel CNN-IBN and Hindi channel IBN7.
Reliance Capital acquired 16.75 lakh shares, representing 6.27 per cent stake of GBN through an open market transaction on BSE on Monday.
Reliance Capital is a leading private sector financial Services Company with interests in asset management, mutual funds, life and general insurance, private equity, stock broking and other activities in financial services.
PTI quoted the Reliance Capital spokesperson confirming the deal wherein the company purchased 16.75 lakh shares, representing 6.27 per cent stake of Global Broadcast News through an open market transaction.
Reliance Mutual Fund through various of its schemes has exposure in various media companies.
