New Delhi: The Chairman of Tata Group, Ratan Tata, has spoken for the first time on his plans for security for his hotels after the attack on the Tata-owned Hotel Taj Mahal.

He also said the city wasn't prepared and had not taken lessons from history.

“The authorities had not got a wake up call from blasts and various other things to put into action a group of crack teams who could address this problem. I don’t think anywhere in the world we've had a terror attack that has been covered on international television and had global visibility for two-and-a-half days. Terror attacks elsewhere last a few minutes or an hour or two. So inadvertently the terror groups got enormous publicity, which some people fear will motivate them to hit again. So I think the outrage that happened was justifiable,” he said.

Tata also promised to get the hotel back up and running. “I am pleased to see that all religions all parties galvanised sand said we will not stand it. In Taj, we have taken a view that we will rebuild the hotel whatever it takes because we would like to show that they can do this to us but can’t win,” he said.
