Yes, it is the Tamil actor and choreographer Raghava Lawrence who recently starred in Karthik Subbaraj’s directorial venture Jigarthanda Double X- a prequel to the 2014 hit Jigarthanda. In the photo, Lawrence was seen posing with South star Rajinikanth during the shoot for one of their collaborations.
Starting as a choreographer, over the years, Lawrence evolved himself as a fine actor too and made a name for himself in the Tamil film industry. Known best for his appearance in the horror comedy Kanchana film series, Lawrence has also directed movies.
Raghava Lawrence’s choreography is characterised by its dynamic and energetic style, making him a celebrated figure in the Indian film industry. Known for his innovative dance sequences, Lawrence infuses passion and creativity into each performance. His ability to blend traditional and contemporary dance forms has garnered widespread acclaim as can be seen from his first project Uzhaipalli in 1993.
The year 2023 has been quite interesting featuring him in projects like Chandramukhi 2, a sequel to Rajinikanth’s Chandramukhi, Jigarthanda Double X and Rudhran. The actor has also tried his hands in Bollywood with Akshay Kumar’s Laxmii in 2020. Interestingly, Laxmii was a remake of his film, Kanchana, released in 2011. He is set to feature in RS Durai Senthilkumar’s Adhigaram which is scheduled for a 2024 release.
Additionally, Lawrence is admired for his philanthropic endeavours, including his efforts towards charitable causes and welfare activities. Following the demise of former Indian President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam in 2015, Raghava Lawrence established a charitable trust bearing his name and contributed Rs 1 crore towards the cause.
