Diwali is knocking at our doors. People dress up in new clothes and visit their family and friends on this day. Many sweet shops have started their preparation in full swing. To increase their sales during Diwali, vendors introduce new varieties of sweets at their shops. In Chinnamanur town in the Theni district of Tamil Nadu, vendors have introduced new types of sweets such as Butter Mysoorba, Cashew Masoorba, Horlicks and Boost Barfi.
Kalidas, the shop owner of one the sweet shops in Chinnamanur town, said that the sale of Boost and Horlicks sweet items is getting a huge response from buyers. While interacting with Local18, he also claimed that they provide good quality sweets to people at low prices. They also have several Diwali offers available on sweets. Apart from the Horlicks and Boost sweets, the shop also offers other varieties of sweet items such as Motichoor Ladoo, Besan Ladoo, Soan Papdi, Doda Barfi, and Kaju Katli.
Last year, the sale of sweets during Diwali was huge. Similarly, the shop owners are expecting another huge sale this year as well. The orders have already started pouring and are expected to increase till the day of Diwali. Horlicks or Boost Burfi is one of the most selling sweet dishes of this year. It is made with the help of chickpea flour, chocolate Horlicks, sugar, water, ghee and badam. It has an easy recipe and can be made at home. Let’s take a look at the recipe.
You need to dry roast the chickpea flour to remove lumps until you get a nice aroma. After attaining the aroma, keep the pan aside. Now, put sugar in a pan and mix water in it. Let the sugar dissolve and boil. Add dry roasted chickpea flour and Horlicks to the mixture. After it gets frothy and thick, transfer the batter to a greased tray. Garnish it with dry fruits.
